Bye-Bye Pixie?

Hair seems to be everyone's favorite topic on here (at least that's what Google analytics tells me), and since I'm in the midst of a hair crisis right now I figured I'd share…

So the crisis isn't really a crisis, I'm just a little bit over my pixie cut. Don't get me wrong, I love my hair short but I did get a little lazy with touch ups over the last three months and it's at this short bob stage right now. Which is cute but also kind of …eh.

I just need something new, and this time I'm going for a grown out pixie style with some inspiration  from Julianne Hough. I don't really know much about her or what she does, except for that she has awesome hair:

Usually, I'm not a big fan of this length. It has a tendency to look matronly. But Julianne's cut has a certain effortlessness to it that just makes it cool. And hey, if I hate it I can always go Emma Watson short again…

Back to my Roots

First all thank you for all the Birthday Love! The lovely messages, e cards, and pictures turned an otherwise rather boring day into a very special one (and don't worry I will have a party on the weekend).

Now on to what this post is actually about. For the last few months I tried to embrace my natural brown hair. When I first got my hair cut into a pixie last year, it was the light shade of blonde that it had been for almost three years before the crop, and I loved it - but I soon realized that dark roots are a lot more noticeable in short hair, then they were in the messy bob I had before.

Because I couldn't imagine getting touch ups every five weeks, it was back to nature. And I liked it, it looked good, it was easy...

...it just wasn't very me.

So I made an appointment for the end of the week, and this picture of the lovely Carey Mulligan proves that minimal upkeep can be more than enough.

Does she rock the roots, or what?

Saturday Best

Perfect coat, perfect jeans, perfect hair, and the best? This gorgeous Zara look is also pretty affordable. If I didn't already own a Burberry coat quite similar to this, and more boyfriend jeans than a single girl can justify, I would have ordered the whole outfit - but since I do, I only snatched up the shirt. Which is perfection, go check it out.

Oops I did it again...

Roughly 2 years ago I chopped of my long locks  in favor of a chin length bob. Back then Chelsea Kane was the inspiration,  and I loved the style so much that I kept it for 2 years, but now it was time to move on...

So today (after a lot of research on google and tumblr) I took this picture of Emma Watson to my hairdresser:

At first I was actually contemplating  a real pixie cut,  but since my hair hadn't been this short since I was 13 I figured that taking baby steps would be a good idea -  so the grown out version it was.  And my amazingly talented  stylist Maria did a fantastic job...

We kept the bangs longer (I wasn't quite ready for that change), and overall it is a tiny bit shorter than Emma's version, but my hair does grown pretty fast and I give it about 3 weeks before it will look more like hers.

So what do you guys think? Love it, hate it? Let me know, comment below!
