Wicked

If you're not following Essie on Tumblr  you need to change that right now!

Not only do they post the cutest ways to wear their new shades,  they also like to celebrate the classics. And this month it's wicked:

Did you know that this color has been around for  21 years?

"Wicked" has been my go-to fall shade for as long as I can remember, last year it got some competition from the navy "After School Boy Blazer" but that didn't last long. There's just something about painting your nails a deep red. It looks super preppy with a navy blazer, incredibly sexy with black skinny jeans,  and so cozy with a cream sweater.

...No wonder it has been a favorite for so many years, and to celebrate Essie gives you the chance to win "wicked" and 99 other shades. Check out the Giveaway here.

Are you a fan of "wicked"?

A Pollock for Your Paws

When it comes to nail polish, I've always preferred a more muted look. Neons just weren't my thing. But then I saw this look on the official Essie Twitter and couldn't resist:

This eye catching look is super easy to recreate:

1) paint your nails with a white base, and let it dry (it has to be completely dry,
you won't get the brush effect if it's still sticky).

2) Pick a color, and dab it on with a tiny sponge.

3) Let it the first color dry, and repeat with as many colors as you like.

4) Have Fun and tweet me your pics!

Everybody Loves an Accent

Among all the fantastic Essie looks from New York Fashion week, the adorable accent nails from Jenny Packham stood out the most:

And the best? The look is super easy to recreate, just paint your nails with a sheer neural (I recommend Ballet Slippers), and use a bobby pin or toothpick to create the dots with your favorite colors. All done.

I was looking for simple Valentine's Day nail tutorials when I stumbled across this...

A Burberry inspired heart manicure? YES PLEASE!

All you need is a burgundy nailpolish (Essie's Wicked can't be beat), a white nail art pen, and a steady hand to draw the hearts on.

Bite Me

Some people look forward to their Birthdays or Christmas, but my favorite time of the year is Shark Week! And no better way to kick it off than with this extra sharp manicure:

Tip: if you don't have a steady hand to paint the bite marks on, just cut a white or silver nail sticker into a jagged edge and put it over a navy base, file the rest off, apply a top coat, et voilĂ  Shark bite nails.

Ballsy Grip

What makes Wimbledon even more fun? Tennis inspired nail art of course!  Even if you're just clutching a remote instead of a racquet.

How great is this design from the Daily Varnish? Use flocking powder to give your nails a tennis ball like  texture:

Day 4: Show Me Your Hooves

Show your Christmas spirit with this impressive but easy to do manicure. All you need is a glitter base, brown polish (I recommend OPI's Suzi Loves Cowboys), and black, white, red and gold  for the accents (use a toothpick if you don't have any dotting tools).

Goldfinger

O.P.I  always comes out with a couple of movie inspired collections over the year, but in most cases the company tends to draw inspiration from Disney or Marvel. This holiday season, however, we get to choose between 12 shades that are inspired by no other than Bond, James Bond.

Source

The SKYFALL collection is as expected on a darker, very glamorous, side - but overall I am not too impressed. There are a few interesting glitter polishes (The Living Daylights, The World is not Enough), but I am simply not a fan of all the reds and purples - It's just nothing new, and the pink tint doesn't feel very Bond.

BUT there is something in the collection that caught my eye, something truly spectacular, something... just see for yourself:

It's an 18 karat gold top coat. That's right real gold. The clear polish has flakey bits of gold leaf and will turn any base into a work of art.  The only downside is the price ($38) - Christmas list maybe?

There's only one more thing: Why isn't this one named Goldfinger? Wouldn't that have been the much punier option? what were you thinking O.P.I.?
