Libraries & Poe-Ka Dots

Just when I though Out of Print already had everything a book lover could want, they put something new on the shelf. And their new collection of leighweight cotton and silk blend scarves might be my favorite addition yet:

I'm in love with the Pride and Prejudice design (and I'm not even a fan of the book).  You can't really tell that it is a book cover unless you unfold it, and a bit of mystery is always a plus …as are brilliant  puns "Poe-ka Dots" anyone?  I can't wait to see this collection grow (Nancy Drew scarf, please).

Which cover would you like to see on a scarf?

Book Shopping

Book Summer would not be complete without a post on Out Of Print, 'cause no matter if you're back-to-school shopping (they do have amazing  totes and pencil pouches!), on a mission to show the world your favorite book, or just want to do some good (every purchase sends a book to a community in need)  …Out of Print is the place to go.

Here's a look at their new "Miss Peregrine's Home for Perculiar Children" collection and some of my all time favorites (how cute is that Nancy Drew sweater?):

Which one is your favorite?

Wrapped up in books

Just in time for the holidays, Out Of Print  has released two new items that are sure to make it on every bibliophile's  Christmas List:

SHOP MUGS
Literary mugs…

SHOP SCARVES
…and library card scarves.

The mugs are available with the banned books design, the library card design, and two novel designs (Breakfast of Champions and Alice in Wonderland), and the super soft scarves come in three different colors (gray, blue, and yellow).

I think both the mug and the scarf would make great Christmas presents, or you could even use the scarf as part of the wrapping if you are giving someone a book. Just wrap the book in nice paper and tie the scarf around it like a big bow. And, as with every Out of Print product, the purchase sends a book to a community in need, so you're technically buying two presents.

But if it is the scarf you want, you have to act fast because they will not be restocked this year, and I imagine that they are going to sell out rather quickly.

Hey, Boo!

It is finally here!!! In support of  Harper Lee's new book Go Set a Watchman coming next month (July 14, to be precise)  Out Of Print Clothing finally released a To Kill a Mockingbird design (I don't know if you can tell, but I'm rather excited about this):

There's a tank top

…and a classic T-shirt. The design is inspired by the little presents that Boo leaves for Scout and Jem in the tree. At first I was a tiny bit disappointed when I opened the email and saw that the shirt didn't feature the cover, but now I love the idea that only those who actually read the book (or saw the movie) will get it.  Now all we need is a secret handshake.

For more Out of Print click here, and if the wait for Go Set A Watchman is driving you crazy check out the exclusive Kindle countdown (it's free!).

Punk Fiction

Out of Print never disappoints when it comes to "literary merch", but their newest design takes being a literature nerd to a whole new level of cool.

Meet the "Punk Rock Authors" tote:

Your favorite authors as  punk rockers – pretty sweet, right?  It's definitely one of these things that you never knew you wanted  until you saw it,  but that's what makes it so awesome.

…and if the tote is not enough check out the matching coasters (interesting conversations are guaranteed if you keep them on your coffee table).

Literary Socks

Only a few weeks ago I blogged about Out of Print's awesome new composition book inspired collection, and  today I find this in my inbox:

I know it's a tad bit too early to think about  Christmas presents, but these socks are the perfect stocking (stuffer) for any bibliophile.

The socks come in a banned books design, that's not only hitting the mark fashion wise but also raising awareness, and an adorable library card print, that's just perfect for keeping your feet warm after you kick off your boots to get comfy with a new book.

Check them out (pun intended) at Out Of Print Clothing

Well Composed

I'm always excited about updates from Out of Print. The website is my go-to address whenever I'm in need of a unique gift, and their shirts are some of the most worn items in my closet.

But  their newest collection might just be my favorite, yet:

A composition book tote and pouch!

Before I did most of my writing on my laptop, I used to carry one of these black and white composition books everywhere.  And now I can actually carry my laptop in a composition book.  Thanks Out of Print!

Out of Bling

Guess what? Out of Print has Jewelry now, a lovely collection of literature inspired necklaces to be more specific.  Here are my favorites:

East and West Egg Necklace

A Must for every Gatsby fan, and wait until you see the back...
(prepare to say "aww")

So It Goes Necklace

You don't have to be a fan of  Slaughterhouse Five to appreciate this quote (and the necklace).

Holden's Hat Necklace

It's Holden's hat from the Catcher in The Rye! How cool is that?

See more at Out of Print Clothing.

Take a Break

First of all, I'm sorry for the lack of updates this month! July just felt like the perfect time to take a little (much needed) break. And then there were finals to study for, and papers to write…

…which lead to a fashion break on top of the blogging break, as I'm currently living in pajama shorts and T-shirts. But even that can be quite stylish in its own way...

take a break

Which is your favorite?

The Great Game

If there weren't already enough reasons to love Out of Print, then here's a new one:

PLAY

The longer you play this amazingly old-school jump and run game, the more books will get donated to communities in need. This means you can do good without leaving your couch, or opening your wallet, but if you do want to open that wallet, check out the company's special edition Gatsby tees. You know you want one.

Day 7: Gift Guide: For the Bookworm

Booklovers are easy to shop for, right? Wrong. Books may be easy to buy, but  you never know what your friends already have in their bookshelves. But don't fret, there are still plenty of options:

Their favorite book in form of a poster?  Feminist theories by everyone's favorite Actor Dude? Notebooks, phone cases, tote bags,  and sweaters?  The options are endless. And even if you still want to surprise your bibliophile friend with a book, you can always use the matching Out of Print tote as a gift bag.
