Time Off

I have a bitter-sweet announcement to make. With some pretty big and exciting things on the horizon  — the biggest thing being a cross country move —  I am taking some time off from blogging.  The main reason for this is that my little "office" is gonna be all packed up in boxes, and instead of posting whatever I can manage to throw together on my phone I'd rather wait until I have a new space to create something that is worth stopping by — and hopefully also also worth waiting for!

Until then you can of course still find me on:

and

Hope to see you there!

Moodsavers

Beeing cooped up in the library all week isn't fun. Don't get me wrong, I love getting stuff done. It's great, it's rewarding...

But I'd go crazy if it wasn't for actual little rewards.

Some of my favorites include:

Picking up a box of macarons (always three, always salted caramel).
Taking my "big girl" camera out for a walk.
Watching a ridiculously bad Lifetime movie.
Crawling into bed with an easy read (which means Nancy Drew or Enola Holmes).
Doing my nails (currently loving Essie's Go Ginza).
Buying a bold new lipstick or crazy mascara (just one!)
And lastly, pizza for dinner.

What are some of your favorite little rewards?

To New Beginnings

Happy New Year!
I hope you had a great New Year's Eve and have an even greater year ahead of you!

I'm usually not one to make New Year's resolutions, it's not because I can't stick to them, I simply don't believe in loosing bad habits over night. If your goal is to work out more, fine, but  don't put on your running shoes on January first and loose momentum by the third. Baby steps.

I do, however, have one goal, and that is to be more consistent with blogging. Last year I had the very ambitious plan to post every second day, which actually worked for a while.  But then I started grad school, and that was that...

I'm not gonna set a set schedule, or promise three posts a week, because that would  just lead to uninspired content, and turn my favorite past-time into a chore. But I will try to avoid slumps, by planing ahead - and maybe that'll lead to the perfect schedule.  Anything's possible.

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays

Can you believe it's already Christmas Eve? I hope that you're all having  amazing holidays, and that you find something special under your tree. But since we still have a few hours to kill until Santa arrives, why not spend it with sharing our favorite things about Christmas? Here's the Christmas tag:

What's your favorite holiday movie?

I have to cheat and pick two. Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life will always have a special place in my heart, but it´s simply not Christmas without joining the Griswold's for their Christmas Vacation.

PJs or Dressing up?

PJs, this year I'm loving these Cath Kidston bottoms:

If you could only buy one present this year, who would get it?

My mom (cheesy but true)

Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Morning?

Christmas Eve.

Did you ever build a ginger bread house?

I grew up in a household full of architects, and consider myself the Frank Lloyd Wright of ginger bread houses.

Any Christmas wishes?

Another cheesy answer, but all I really want is health and happiness for my loved ones.

Favorite Christmas smell?

The Scent of fresh snow (and let's add a white Christmas to the previous question).

Favorite Christmas treat or meal?

Candy Cane tea, (I'm obsessed) and smoked salmon, which is a Christmas staple at my house.

It's your turn!

And  don't forget to check Norad's Santa Tracker!

Oh Christmas Tree...

Happy Saturday!

I just put up my very tiny tree. I really wanted a Hobbit themed Christmas tree this year, all gold with a dragon on top, but I just couldn't find a dragon, so I went with the classics:

Did you already put up your tree?

Christmas Vacation

Between family emergencies, dealing with a big disappointment, and way too many papers and projects that had to be turned in before Christmas break, I did not even have time to put up the Christmas decorations...  But all that stress is over now, and I can finally focus on the fun type of stress, which is exactly what I did this weekend.

On Saturday, I woke up all bright and early  to finally got some Christmas shopping done, and actually found something for everyone, even myself...

I found these Ralph Lauren boots in my favorite thrift shop, and I had no idea how much  I wanted leopard riding boots until I tried them on. (And they would go so well with that other thing I want for Christmas, so get on that Santa…)

The rest of the day was spend with present wrapping (I love this wrapping paper I found at TK Maxx), and catching up on Nashville (can you believe that cliffhanger?).

Sunday was much quieter, but we did go to see the Hobbit  Part II at night, which was the perfect way to kick off  my Christmas break.

Better Days

I know I've been a little MIA this summer, lets just say there were a lot of not so great things happening, and I needed a blogging break to get my life back in order.  But things are finally looking up now, and if anyone wants to know details feel free to ask.

After this not so great summer I'm even more excited that my favorite time of the year is about to start, and here are some things that I'm looking forward to this fall:

1) Chloe Grace Moretz as Carrie

3) Reading the "Mockingbirds" sequel the Rivals
(expect a post on them later this month)

4) Hats, especially a new maroon one I just bought.

5) And last but not least my Sweden trip coming up in October

What are you looking forward to this fall?

Garden Party II

The Garden Life was absolutely magical this year, there was just so much to see:

Blue sky and even bluer car...

...it's always tea time!

A perfect pair...

...and lots of pink.

I'm Not Dead...

First of all, sorry for not posting anything all week, but I actually have a very good reason.

I was supposed to get my wisdom teeth out on Tuesday afternoon. No big deal I though, I already got the top ones out at 14, and that was a cakewalk...  But  well, it was a little more complicated this time. On the first try a root broke and got stuck on a nerve. My terrified dentist (he was more freaked out than me) sent me to a specialist, and after a night of agonizing pain and a two hour  surgery on Wednesday morning I was finally root free.

The rest of the week was a painkiller induced blur, but now I'm almost pain free, and just waiting for the swelling to go down, because right now I do look look like the kid from A Christmas Story (blond pixie cuts and swollen cheeks will do that to you). So until then I leave you with this:

I want to live in this campaign (and the Body Tender perfume is pretty amazing, too)
