The Bare Necessities

I'm addicted to "What's in my Purse" videos on Youtube (there is just something strangely fascinating about  them) - So I figured why not write a "What's in my Purse" post - but be warned this might be a little more geeky than expected lol

1) Scarf - I always get cold, and I always carry one around. This pretty pink one is from Claire's

2) iPhone (in Psych case...duh) , iPod and  8 GB of my life in the form of a flashdrive

3) a Book - But not just any book, it's Seth Grahame-Smith's "How To Survive a Horror Movie". Just in case I have to wait somewhere and want a funny read to pass the time, or ...you know actually find myself in a situation  where I need it.

4) I usually don't carry around a lot of make-up but I never leave the house without my pineapple lip balm or Coke flavored Lip Smaker. Other essentials include a nail file, John Frieda Frizz&Ease Secret Weapon Finish Cream (or as I like to call it magic in a tube), and a sample size of my fave perfume  (currently True Religion)

5) Wallet

6) Sunglasses - These are the smaller Ray Ban aviators (I have no clue what model, but they shouldn't be hard to track down)

7) HUGE nylon bag - this little puppy folds out into a a giant shopping bag, and is adorable.

8) Keys - and my flamingo keychain, because I loose everything unless it is attached to something bright and fluffy.

So what's the strangest thing I'd find in your bag?  Comment below!

Summer Playlist

The way a person dresses often reflects what kind of music they love, so I figured it would be fun to put together a few looks that are inspired by the most played songs  on my iTunes.

Lets start with one basic piece: a good pair of distressed bootcut jeans. They go with everything and will always be my go-to style for the summer:

True Religion Carrie

Now on to the different looks:

1) Hole - Heaven Tonight  I can listen to this song 200 times in a row and won't get sick of it. For the Heaven Tonight look I went with a really simple but playful style that reflects the sweetness of the song. Just think "end of summer, bonfire, beach" and you're set.

2) The Ataris - Boys Of Summer (originally by Don Henly) This song already offers a dresscode "You got that hair slicked back and those wayfarers on baby" - so just go with the 80s vibe, throw on a bright polo, some converse , and a cool sporty jacket if it gets colder.

3) Rascal Flatts - She'd Be California - the song is about a rising star, a gorgeous Hollywood starlet,  this means big shades, sparkly heels, and a top that matches that red sports car. And paired with the distressed jeans and a leather jacket it's still casual  enough to capture the carefree country feel of the song.

O.O.T.D: Farmers Market

Today I spent the morning hours on the Farmer's Market (like pretty much every Saturday), and since I really like my outfit I figured I could post an outfit of the day.

1) 7 For All Mankind Skinny Bootcut in  Dark Rich Blue - These are by far the most comfortable and flattering Jeans I ever owned. Worth every cent!

2) H&M Palm Tree Top, I just got this top (for only 3€!) and I'm in love with it. It is very sheer and flowy though, so on a windy day you might wanna wear another top underneath it.

3) Longchamp Le Pilage in orange  - I love these bags and I have them in all colors and sizes, but this summer I can't get enough of the orange one - and it's also perfect for a day at the farmer's market because it holds everything you buy and you don't have to worry about ruining it with strawberry stains.

4) OPI "Suzie Loves Cowboys" Nailpolish - The Texas Collection is still my all time favorite, and last week I finally gave in and bought this one - and it's amazing!  It' looks so yummy and chocolaty!  And dark  brown is such an unexpected color but goes with everything...love it ;)

5) As for shoes and accessories I kept it simple with some flat  brown leather sandals, and  my trademark pineapple necklace.

So what's your favorite thing to do on a sunny saturday morning? Comment below!

A Hollywood Story

Despite my early obsession with anything fashion related, I've never been one to read the fashion magazines - No, I always got my inspiration from my other obsessions the big and the small screen. So I figured it would be fun to to narrow down a few characters that play the biggest inspirational roles for my personal style.

1) Troian Bellisario as Spencer  Hastings  in Pretty Little Liars

I love this girl, even though there are a few misses (what the heck was that sailor dress last night?), she's my fave Little Liar - her style almost has something Nancy Drew-esque and is rather hard to narrow down - which is why I love it so much.

2) Amber Heard as Jenn Jones in the Joneses

I'm gonna be honest, I wanted to see this movie cause I loved Amber's outfit on the poster - but that lead to discovering an awesome movie, and finding out that I actually LOVE boyfriend jeans.

3) Misha Barton as Marissa Cooper in The OC

I wasn't the biggest fan of the character, but even after the show's long over  I still adore (and copy) her style a lot. She is the epitome of a preppy California girl (and I especially love her edgier side that showed in season 3).

4) '80s  and '90s teen Movies

I love unique vintage pieces, and especially quirky accessoires or crazy statement pieces like the jackets Corey Haim wore in Dream a Little Dream (which also happens to be the sweetest movie ever made). And then there's Clueless, over -the-knee socks and mini skirts?  There's a reason everyone was in love with Cher ;)
